Course Description

The Working in Healthcare course aims to provide the learner with a better understanding of how the NHS and private providers are organised and the responsibilities that these providers have. Learners will investigate specific parts of the health care system and how these parts work with each other to ensure optimum performance. The course will also look at how staff fit into these systems.

The course will also enable learners to understand how to ensure that patients and end users gain access to the health care services that they require. This will include physical resources, equipment, aids and how these are managed.

The course will provide the learner with a customer focussed service and will help to foster a good impression with patients and end users.

Modules

Module 1: Understanding the Structure of the Health Care Sector
Module 2:  Liaise Between Primary, Secondary and Community Teams
Module 3: Support Individuals to Identify, Access and Use Services and Facilities
Module 4 Physical Resources to Meet Service Delivery Needs in a Health Setting
Module 5: Give Customers a Positive Impression of Yourself and Your Organisation

Previous Knowledge

The good news is that there is no previous knowledge required to complete this course. However you may wish to study this course alongside our Health and Social Care Diploma Level 2 or Level 3 as it would tie in directly with your end career goals.

Assessment

This programme is fully assessed via Tutor Marked Assignments. Upon completion of each module the learner will be required to complete a series of tasks, requiring essay style answers, which are sent to the tutor for marking.

Upon completion of all the course assignments the work is then subject to internal and external moderation to ensure consistency, fairness and that all standards have been properly applied and met.

Awarding Organisation

At the end of this course successful learners will receive a Certificate of Achievement from ABC Awards and a Learner Unit Summary (which lists the details of all the units you have completed as part of your course).

The course has been endorsed under the ABC Awards’ Quality Licence Scheme.

The completion of this course alone does not lead to an Ofqual regulated qualification but may be used as evidence of knowledge and skills towards regulated qualifications in the future. The unit summary can be used as evidence towards Recognition of Prior Learning if you wish to progress your studies in this sector.

To this end the learning outcomes of the course have been benchmarked at Level 3 against level descriptors published by Ofqual, to indicate the depth of study and level of difficulty involved in successful completion by the learner.

The course itself has been designed by Kendal Publishing to meet specific learners’ or employers’ requirements.

ABC Awards’ endorsement involves a robust and rigorous quality audit by external inspectors to ensure quality is consistently met. A regular review of courses is carried out as part of the endorsement process.

Support

You will receive the course manual, assignments and study guide plus tutor support by mail and email. Our student support team are also available for any other queries that you may have whilst completing your course. You can be assured that unlimited support is available for your home study course, so there is no need to struggle or feel isolated during your studies
