Human Resources Diploma Overview

For a business to be sector leading, it needs to be at the top of its game in every aspect, including how it manages its resources and people.

Human resource departments are at the forefront of managing people and other resources within a business. To do this, a business needs a human resource specialist, someone who is skilled and up-to-date with the latest regulations, employment laws and policies.

Department leaders and managers are responsible for the effective day-to-day running of a business. It is the Human Resources (HR) Department that recruits, trains, supports and develops employees. They are also the department to whom others turn when there is a need for disciplinary or dismissal procedures required.

In larger businesses, there will be a separate department needed to manage the day-to-day processes within human resources but in smaller businesses, human resources is a responsibility often tagged onto to someone’s role.

That someone could be you, especially after completing a Human Resources Diploma.

Our diploma has a broad base, allowing you to become familiar with all the necessary functions, skills and attributes of recruiting, training, developing, supporting and dismissing people;

  • The recruitment, selection, and induction of staff is essential in bringing the right people into your organisation
  • Producing and maintaining personnel records is important for your business and your employees
  • Managing staff and relationships requires diplomacy and tact, along with other skills as detailed in this module
  • Support, training, and development are key to ensuring the right people stay with your business and that they upskill so that your business can move forward
  • When things go wrong, HR are the people to turn to for advice and action relating to disciplinary procedures, grievances, and tribunals
  • And finally, terminating someone’s employment must be done correctly and within current employment law

  • Increased Confidence

    By on 22 December 2015
I have enjoyed every minute of this course. It was very clear and presented in a way that is easily understandable. I was able to complete it, in my own time, which has been brilliant for me as I work full time and have a family and home to support. In completing this course I have gained a promotion at work, which has resulted in a pay rise, and this has been greatly received and has resulted in me having some much needed home improvement. I would highly recommend this course to anyone, who was looking at taking a role in HR, as this has made me feel more confident in my role. My tutor has been really helpful with any queries that I have had.
The only thing I picked up on whilst doing the course, was that in one part of the course, I think in Module 1, the grammar either didn't make sense, the way it was written or the wrong words were used. For example them was written as that. However this was only a minor thing. I would be interested in more courses with NCC in the future, but for now, thank you for everything.
    Dear Diane
Thank you for your review, we are glad to hear that you have gained promotion at work through completion of an NCC course. Your comments regarding the grammar have been forwarded on to our development team.

    Thanks again

  • Enjoyable and straight forward

    By on 4 September 2015
I thoroughly enjoyed my course. I found Sally Swift to be very helpful and responsive. She would always respond very quickly to my emails regarding the submission of work or queries. These fast and helpful replies allowed me to progress with my work. I was also very pleased with the quick response and the turn around time from submitting my work to receiving the mark/feedback sheet from Maria Richards. I found that my work was marked and feedback to be me within 2-3 days of submission. All round I found my course to be enjoyable and straight forward. I never felt frustrated or held up because I was waiting for answers of feedback. This meant I was able to work through my course quickly and hassle free.
