The Early Years Level 4 course aims to provide the learner with advanced knowledge of the role of an Early Years Practitioner and looks at different aspects of working in a childcare environment.

The course covers the key areas that are involved in working in an Early Years role. This includes both the general safeguarding of children and childcare along with management and leadership skills. The modules will look at legislation, professional development, health and safety, communication, planning and other areas related to the role of an early year’s practitioner.

This course will provide the learner with the knowledge and skills to effectively develop a sound understanding of what is involved in working within a childcare environment for managers and senior members of staff.

Previous Knowledge

The good news is that there is no previous knowledge required to complete this course.

However you may wish to study this course as a progression course from the Nursery Nurse Diploma (PI903).

Assessment

Your course will be assessed via tutor marked assignments. You will be require to pass an assignment at the end of all 8 modules. Once you have worked through your course materials and submitted your assignment to your tutor, you will be provided with feedback to aid you in your studies.

If you fail to pass an assignment you are able to resubmit your amended assignment, using the feedback as a guideline to where and how you need to improve your submission.

Awarding Organisation

At the end of this course successful learners will receive a Certificate of Achievement by ABC Awards and a Learner Module Summary (which lists the details of all the modules you have completed as part of your course).

The course has been endorsed under the ABC Awards’ Quality Licence Scheme.

The completion of this course alone does not lead to an Ofqual regulated qualification but may be used as evidence of knowledge and skills towards regulated qualifications in the future. The Module summary can be used as evidence towards Recognition of Prior Learning if you wish to progress your studies in this sector.
