Course Description

The Early Years Level 4 course aims to provide the learner with advanced knowledge of the role of an Early Years Practitioner and looks at different aspects of working in a childcare environment.

The course covers the key areas that are involved in working in an Early Years role. This includes both the general safeguarding of children and childcare along with management and leadership skills. The modules will look at legislation, professional development, health and safety, communication, planning and other areas related to the role of an early year’s practitioner.

This course will provide the learner with the knowledge and skills to effectively develop a sound understanding of what is involved in working within a childcare environment for managers and senior members of staff.

Previous Knowledge

The good news is that there is no previous knowledge required to complete this course.

However you may wish to study this course as a progression course from the Nursery Nurse Diploma (PI903).

Assessment

The Certificate of Achievement from ABC Awards and Certa Awards is gained by successfully completing a series of assignments. Your personal tutor will review, mark and provide you with feedback on your work.

At the end of this course successful learners will receive a Certificate of Achievement from ABC Awards and Certa Awards and a Learner Unit Summary (which lists the components the learner has completed as part of the course).

The course has been endorsed under the ABC Awards and Certa Awards Quality Licence Scheme. This means that NCC Home Learning has undergone an external quality check to ensure that the organisation and the courses it offers, meet defined quality criteria. The completion of this course alone does not lead to a regulated qualification* but may be used as evidence of knowledge and skills gained. The Learner Unit Summary may be used as evidence towards Recognition of Prior Learning if you wish to progress your studies in this subject. The tutor is there to provide the learner with advice and guidance throughout the course and also to mark the unit assignments. The tutor will have extensive knowledge in the relevant area and will be able to provide the learner with personalised feedback throughout the course.
