Course Description

This course aims to provide parents, guardians and carers the information needed to provide children with the best possible diets, depending on their individual needs. The course covers the best nutritional practice for children and young people up to the age of 12 years.

With nutrition being a key topic in the UK, the need to have a good understanding of diet is essential. There is a need for children to be healthy and fit from a young age and fostering a balanced diet early on can lead to health benefits later in life.

The best diet for an adult is not necessarily the best diet for a child. The course aims to plug any gaps in the learner’s knowledge of maintaining a healthy lifestyle, which does not conflict with the development of a child.

This course will investigate how good nutritional health and exercise will benefit a child but it will also look at how poor choices can have a negative effect, which could lead to more serious problems in the future.
