NCC have completed and office sweepstake to celebrate the 2014 World Cup and boost yearlong fundraising efforts.

Excited by this summer’s footballing feast, NCC Home Learning staff paid for a tournament lucky dip and decided that half the proceeds should go to the Steve Prescott Foundation.

The eager entrants paid £2 for a random selection of 2 world cup competitors and the lucky individual with the world cup winning team claimed all.

After raising £71 in a charity sports day back in May we decided to keep the fundraising ambitions alive ahead of our huge cycling event next month, and managed to raise another £17.50 to chip away at our grand target of £500 for the Foundation.

As the hopes of a home nation victory soon came crashing down, the focus was quickly directed to the sweepstake prize, and here’s how the events unfolded;

We embarked on our fundraising challenge earlier this year and our goal is to take part in as many sporting events as possible to help raise money for the charity of local sports hero Steve Prescott, who sadly passed away after a 7 year battle with cancer.

Our focus is now to defeat a 20 mile cycle challenge which is set to take place on the 9th August. For more details on the event or to make a donation to this great cause please visit https://www.justgiving.com/NCCHomeLearning/

As training now gets in full swing we will be sharing our inevitable stories of blood sweat and tears, so keep an eye out on our website for all the action.
