OUR staff suffer with sore legs and pride as they cycle over 20 miles to raise money for The Steve Prescott Foundation.
The team of 4 made the early morning Southport trip on Saturday 9th August and peddled across the borders of Lancashire/ Merseyside before reaching our offices at Alexandra Business Park in St Helens.
Riding in hot and blustery conditions, everyone fought through the pain to conquer the challenge and help raise over £400 for the local cancer charity, with donations still to come.
And not satisfied with the initial target of the 20 miles completion, the team added extra miles to include coastal scenery and gave themselves a target time of 2 hours, which they hit with a time of 1 hour 50.
As part of our plans to raise money for the local cause, we have partaken in numerous activities which also include a sports themed activity day and a world cup sweepstake, and are now well of achieving our target of £500.
We embarked on our fundraising challenge earlier this year and our goal is to take part in as many sporting events as possible to help raise money for the charity of local sports hero Steve Prescott, who sadly passed away after a 7 year battle with cancer.
As funds for the great cause still flood in it’s not too late to make a difference… You can still make a donation by visiting https://www.justgiving.com/NCCHomeLearning/
Eager to smash our original target, we now look to plan another event and will be auctioning off a rare piece of rugby league memorabilia in October, to coincide with this year’s Rugby League Grand Final. More details on this will be posted on our website in the near future.
