Course Description

The Webmaster - JavaScript Web Design Course is designed to introduce students with a working knowledge of Web Design to the fundamentals of JavaScript which tightly integrates with HTML.

During the course students will learn the basic rules of JavaScript through a series of assignments. As the course progresses the student's skills will be honed through a number of interactive games such as the Minefield and Connect 4 games.

The final assignment consists of the development of a technically demanding ‘Owzat cricket game, in which the students newly acquired knowledge of JavaScript and jQuery skills are tested. The skills you’ll learn throughout this course are brought together to create a stunning application, which you will be rightly proud of.

Previous Knowledge

The good news is there’s no requirements that need to be met in order to join this course. However, we do recommend students have a good knowledge of HTML Programming.

We do also recommend that this course is completed on a PC with the Windows Operating System or on an Apple Mac. As this is an online course it can be accessed on any Internet ready computer.

Assessment

You will be assessed on the coursework which is detailed in the course materials. The coursework consists of individual web pages and a complete final website. Your work can be sent back to your course tutor by email or by post.

Awarding Organisation

On successful completion of this course students will receive our Webmaster – JavaScript Diploma also students will also receive an Open Awards Level 4 Certificate Award with 9 Open Awards Credits. Open Award Credits can be accumulated with other course or unit credits over a period of time which can lead to an accredited qualification.

The course measurable learning outcomes have been benchmarked at Level 4 (using Ofqual’s Qualification and Credit Framework (QCF) level descriptors) to allow you to consider the depth of study, difficulty, and level of achievement involved.
