Course Description

This course strives to equip learners with a greater knowledge and understanding of a range of aspects regarding Special Educational Needs (SEN). This is the ideal programme for individuals working within an educational setting. This course aims to build on your understanding of Special Educational Needs and help to gain a more in depth understanding of current legislation as well as how it relates to educational settings in England.

You can expect to learn more about common types of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities which you may come across in schools. Students will also explore historical aspects related to SEN and disability and will also look into how provision and attitudes have changed over the last 100 years or so.

All educational provisions should concentrate on the inclusion of pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities and this programme will enable understanding of a variety of issues. Learners will be required to complete 6 modules, all of which will explore a different aspect of this subject area. Each module will require students to complete assessments in order to demonstrate their understanding and test their knowledge.

Modules

Module 1 – Special Educational Needs (SEN) Overview
Module 2 – SEN Provision in Schools and Policies
Module 3 – SENCo Role and Outside Agencies
Module 4 – Some Common SEN Conditions Found in Schools
Module 5 – Behaviour
Module 6 – Inclusive Education

Awarding Organisation

At the end of this course successful learners will be awarded a Certificate of Achievement by ABC Awards. The Course has been endorsed under the ABC Awards’ Quality Licence Scheme. This means that NCC Resources Ltd has undergone an external quality check to ensure that the organisation and the courses it offers, meet certain quality criteria. Would recommend to anyone

I have enjoyed every moment of my study with NCC. My tutor has been amazingly supportive and the help has been there when required. I am really looking forward with the completion of this course to take into the job I have always dreamed about doing. This course has also given me the confidence to strive in what I want out of a career and has made me more confident as a person. I am looking forward to receiving my certificate and begin a life long journey into a new job. NCC have been amazing and I would recommend them to anyone who is looking into further studies to get them into the job they truly want.
