Course Description
The Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) is widely recognised as the Gold Standard for accounting technician training. It is valued across the whole of the accounting profession – and is a qualification requirement of many employers. You will often see job ads looking for a “Qualified AAT” or a “Qualified Accounting Technician”.
As well as being a respected qualification in its own right, it can be an invaluable stepping stone for those wishing to progress to the professional level qualifications, and is a cost effective alternative to the traditional graduate route.
What you’ll get on our course programme:
Registration with the AAT
Before you can sit any exam, you need to be registered with the AAT. You will need to do this yourself on-line via the AAT website. The 2011/12 rates, which are valid until 1st September are:
Previous Knowledge Required
Successful achievement of the Level 2 Certificate in Accounting, an equivalent alternative accounting qualification at level 2 or practical experience in bookkeeping is required. If the latter, we suggest learners complete our Level 3 initial assessment to confirm that their current knowledge and skills will enable a smooth transition onto the programme.
Support
You will receive a personalised study plan and a study support guide plus tutor help via phone or email.
For this course, our team are willing to provide out of office hours support: if you find it difficult to find time to speak to us whilst at work, email us your contact details, the nature of your query and when would be a good time to call (within reason!) and we will endeavour to get back to you.
Assessment
Exam fees
The CBAs (Computer Based Exams) can be sat at any AAT Centre that accepts external candidates. Advice on where these are can be obtained from us after purchase or directly from the AAT. Exam fees are set by the AAT and are payable directly to the AAT exam centre when booking your CBA. At Level 3 these are set at £36 per exam for 7 exams.
In addition to this the AAT exam centre may charge an administration fee per exam. This is limited to £10 per exam for those wishing to sit their exams at our own centre in Exeter.
