Course Description

The Webmaster course is a Web Development and Design course aimed at providing learners with the knowledge of how to create a website from start to finish. The course will increase your skills with several platforms including HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

During the course, students will create and learn how to develop web pages, eventually forming and creating a fully functioning web page of their own. Students will also complete exercises using specialised products such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Dreamweaver and ShopFactory. A template of a fictional web site is included in the course to provide a work page for you to implement the techniques that you are learning. The course will teach you how to create different effects and designs for your web pages, ultimately teaching you how to design and creating a high quality website of your own.

The course is provided using an online learning system which can be accessed using any traditional web browsers. This is supplemented by tutor support which is provided throughout the course to ensure you truly understand the course materials.

The course is broken down into 10 modules, each containing lessons on individual areas of web design. There will also be a quiz and assignment at the end of each module

Previous Knowledge

Software Requirements:
The Webmaster Online course includes 30 day trial versions of the software packages covered within the course materials:
Adobe Dreamweaver
Adobe Photoshop
Shop Factory Pro

It is recommended that learners install these trials as and when they cover these areas within the material in the course and are ready to complete the section.

Pre-Requirements:
The good news is that there is no previous knowledge required to study this course. It is recommended however that learner have previous experience of using computer systems and word processing skills.

Please Note: We recommend this course is completed on a PC with the Windows Operating System or on an Apple Mac. 

Assessment

You will be assessed throughout the course based on assignments which are submitted to your tutor. These assignments can consist of creating individual web pages to designing a whole website. Your assignments can be submitted to your tutor either by post or email.

Awarding Organisation

On successful completion of this course students will receive our Webmaster – HTML and CSS Diploma also students will receive an Open Awards Level 3 Certificate Award.

This is a Level 3 certificate Award and has 8 Open Award credits. Open Award Credits can be accumulated with other course or unit credits over a period of time which can lead to an accredited qualification.

The course is provided by Distance Learning Centre, a licensed centre for Open Awards. The course’s measurable learning outcomes have been benchmarked at Level 3 (using Ofqual’s Qualification and Credit Framework (QCF) level descriptors) to allow you to consider the depth of study, difficulty, and level of achievement involved.

You will be provided with comprehensive online materials designed to provide you with everything required to complete your Webmaster course.
