This statement might seem a little harsh but it is true. If customers do not want to go to a retail outlet, it will not sell anything and it simply cannot survive. Think, for a moment, of organisations in the retail sector that have failed in recent times – they were not selling enough products to sustain the business. 

This leads to the retail sector being very competitive. Retail businesses in the same sector are all competing for the same customers. Think of the big supermarkets – they all compete against each other. Indeed, the advertising for many of the supermarkets makes comparisons with their competitors, usually on the basis of price. They are trying to attract customers of another store, to their own.  This programme will provide you with all the relevant knowledge you need to know about a retail business and provides you with the opportunity to gain a certificate of achievement.  

This NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Retail Operations has been accredited by the Register of Regulated Qualifications (Ofqual) and is part of the Qualifications Credit Framework (QCF). 

You must successfully complete all eight units to be awarded the NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Retail Operations.

Previous Knowledge Required

The good news is that no prior learning knowledge or experience is essential to take this Retail Operations qualification. This course is openly available to anyone wishing to learn more about Retail Operations and would like to take part in a highly rewarding home study course. You have the freedom to start this course at any time and continue your studies at your own pace for a period of up to 12 months from initial registration with full tutor support.

You will however be required to be working in a retail environment in order to complete this course due to the nature of the assessment questions.

Assessment

The learner will complete a portfolio of evidence by successfully completing all of the activities at the end of each unit. This portfolio is assessed by your tutor who will mark and sign off each completed unit of study. 

Upon successful completion of the 18 credits, students will receive a certificate of achievement from the awarding organisation, NCFE.

Awarding Organisation

At the end of this course successful learners will receive a Level 2 NCFE certificate of achievement. That means that it is independently accredited at a level of learning equivalent to Level 2 on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) for England, Wales and Northern Ireland. 

Accreditation by NCFE is a guarantee of quality. It means that this learning programme has been scrutinised and approved by an independent panel of experienced educational professionals and is quality audited biannually by NCFE.

 NCFE is recognised as an awarding body by the qualification regulators ('regulators') for England, Wales and Northern Ireland.     I am thoroughly enjoying this course and look forward to receiving the tutors feedback when it arrives through the post. The assignments are marked and returned quickly and the supportive and encouraging feedback given by Marella Doyle is brilliant.

    I would recommend this course as it gives you a really good knowledge of the retail business and the folder which I received is informative and useful. This is my second course from NCC, I am already looking to see what course to do next!
