{"id":120,"date":"2014-02-18T11:09:22","date_gmt":"2014-02-18T11:09:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/digitalnext.me\/nccblog\/?p=120"},"modified":"2020-04-14T09:22:22","modified_gmt":"2020-04-14T08:22:22","slug":"ncc-access-higher-education","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ncchomelearning.co.uk\/blog\/ncc-access-higher-education\/","title":{"rendered":"NCC and Access to Higher Education"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>NCC is pleased to announce that it has now been approved by Ascentis, an Access Validating Agency and National Awarding Body to deliver the QAA-recognised graded Access to HE Diploma by distance learning.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The Access to HE Diploma is a national, credit based qualification which prepares students for study at university.\u00a0 It is designed for people who would like to study in HE but who left school without the usual qualifications, such as A Levels.\u00a0 Diplomas are made up of credit-based units at Level 2 and Level 3.\u00a0\u00a0 They are an alternative to traditional qualifications and are specifically designed to support adult learners seeking qualifications to get to university and improve career prospects.<\/p>\n<p>To achieve an Access to HE Diploma, students need to complete a programme that includes units of study in relevant subject areas.\u00a0 Students will be taught study skills \u2013 learning how to approach study and the different techniques needed to be a successful student.\u00a0 The whole Programme has been designed to ensure that the student is thoroughly equipped for studying at university.\u00a0 For each unit successfully completed, students will earn credits that gradually build towards the 60 credits that are required to gain the full Access to HE Diploma.<\/p>\n<p>NCC Home Learning are delighted to be able to offer students the opportunity to enrol onto the Access to HE Diploma and will be offering course titles in our particular area of expertise &#8211; Health and Social Care.
