Course Description

This is the ideal programme for individuals who would like to develop their maths skills. The certificate is broken down into small units (Awards) which will help you to build your confidence and ability in a range of topics areas. This course strives to help learners work towards Mathematics Functional Skills at Entry Level 3.

The Basic Mathematical Skills course aims to provide students with the foundations of maths including how, when and why we use them. The learning materials will help you to identify areas of maths that you already know, teach you something new or show you a new way of working with maths. Throughout the course you are sure to build your skills and confidence.

You may find this programme a great starting point and a first step towards gaining other maths qualifications. This course will also provide you with the skills you may need both inside and outside or work. Distance learning is a great way to develop and enhance your knowledge and skills by studying in the comfort of your own home. It provides students with the flexibility to study at a time and pace to suit you. This means you can fit in gaining an education into your busy lifestyle.

Learners have the option to complete a diagnostic test which involves a short online exam. This test will provide students with an idea of what level your current skills are at. You will be provided with a breakdown of what questions you got both right and wrong, which you may find useful.
