Course Description 

Teaching Assistant Certificate Course Teaching Assistants provide invaluable support to teachers and help achieve positive learning outcomes. Teaching assistants usually work with small groups or with individual children. Their duties vary depending on the particular job and the age of the children.

The ASET Level 2 Teaching Assistant Certificate is an externally accredited award from ASET, an awarding body recognised by the UK Qualifications and Curriculum Authority.

The ASET Level 2 Teaching Assistant Certificate does not require any practical work, and is designed to provide the student with a theoretical depth of knowledge to be able to become a teaching assistant.

Students entering for this award must complete the FOUR mandatory units listed below and three optional units of their choice. There is no requirement for students to be employed in a school environment nor undertake a work placement in order to complete this award.

Your Teaching Assistant pack will include a studyguide, comprehensive study notes for each element of the course, self-assessment activities, assignments, full 12 month tutor support, assignment marking and feedback from your tutor and accreditation.

Previous Knowledge Required

The good news is that no prior learning knowledge or experience is essential to take this course. This course is openly available to anyone wishing to learn more about becoming a Teaching Assistant and would like to take part in a highly rewarding home study course.

You have the freedom to start the course at any time and continue your studies at your own pace for a period of up to 12 months from initial registration with full tutor support.

Support

You will receive the course manual, assignments and study guide plus tutor support by mail and email. Our student support team are also available for any other queries that you may have whilst completing your course. You can be assured that unlimited support is available for your home study course, so there is no need to struggle or feel isolated during your studies.

Assessment

The Teaching Assistant Certificate is assessed by a series of written assignments which are submitted and marked by your tutor. There is no end test to complete.

The ASET Level 2 Certificate for Teaching Assistants can be awarded for completing the four MANDATORY units listed below, plus THREE OPTIONAL units.

Students completing the ASET award may complete the ABC qualification at a later date, once work placement facilities are available, but an additional fee will be payable.
