In each module you are introduced to the main theories associated with that area of psychology. Modules 2-6 are each separated into a Part A and a Part B to aid understanding. Key features of the Psychology Diploma include: ‘Setting the scene’ boxes: These describe relevant, and sometimes surprising, case studies that illustrate points that are made in the main text. ‘From the archives’ boxes: These make reference to key research studies published in academic journals. These bring you into contact with the methods and procedures used by psychologists to test and develop their theories. ‘Have a go’ boxes: These encourage active learning, in which you are more involved and engaged in the learning process. Targeted suggestions for further reading. The Psychology Diploma has been written especially for NCC Learning by Dr Matthew Smith and Elizabeth Ottley. Matthew Smith is a former Associate Professor of Psychology at Liverpool Hope University with nearly 20 years’ experience of teaching and research in Psychology. His work in the media even included a stint as the resident psychologist/parapsychologist on the television show Most Haunted.
