Course Description
This programme is designed to be accessible for freestanding study by non-specialists in this area and to facilitate integration within employer training programmes in health and social care.
Learners complete 4 units: understanding palliative care; understanding a person's needs in a palliative care context; supporting a person with their physical care needs; care during the final hours of life and bereavement care.

The assessor/tutor will support the learner throughout the duration of the course. The learner will complete activities and an assignment in order to successfully complete the course. Assessment
Completing a series of tutor marked assignments together with an end of course multi-choice questionnaire, will lead you to the highly acclaimed NCFE Certificate in Palliative Care.

Awarding Body
At the end of this course successful learners will receive a Level 2 NCFE certificate of achievement. That means that it is independently accredited at a level of learning equivalent to Level 2 on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) for England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Accreditation by NCFE is a guarantee of quality. It means that this learning programme has been scrutinised and approved by an independent panel of experienced educational professionals and is quality audited biannually by NCFE.
NCFE is recognised as an awarding body by the qualification regulators ('regulators') for England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The regulators are the Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulator (Ofqual) in England, the Department for Children, Education, Lifelong Learning and Skills (DCELLS) in Wales and the Council for Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment (CCEA) in Northern Ireland.
