The  UK's  top  nail  educator  Jacqui  Jefford  is  joined  by  multiple competition  winner  Kirsty  Meakin to guide you as your tutors.  Meet them in the UK's top TV studio where the action has been captured using multiple camera angles in close-up, so you don't miss a thing.  The  step-by-step  instruction  follows  the NVQ  curriculum,  ensuring  that  you'll  acquire  a  solid, practical foundation and a worthwhile qualification.

Jacqui will show you the designs slowly, step by step on the Nail Trainer.  She'll  show  you  the  coolest  nail  art  techniques  and  discusses  some  of  the common problems you might experience. She'll teach you how to master basic hand painting techniques whilst creating designs; small and large flowers, striping, dotting, animal prints, blends and marbling. Then Kirsty takes these techniques to a higher level, creating one of her masterpieces on a live model, using a mix of the techniques you've just been taught.

Jacqui  will  then  take  you  through  the  intricacies  of  a  further  eleven  designs, demonstrating  glitter  application  techniques,  the  use  of  rhinestones,  flat stones, stickers,  transfers  and  charms. Once  again  Jacqui will  show  you  the most  effective techniques  slowly,  step  by  step,  and  then  Kirsty  creates more  competition  standard designs for you at full speed. Watching such an accomplished artiste at work is a rare privilege.

To  complete  your  foundation  course  in  nail  art,  we've included  a wealth  of  information  on DVD  and  in  the accompanying  book  on  such important subjects as salon skills, health and safety, client consultation, anatomy and physiology, after-care and retailing.

Previous Knowledge Required

You don't need any previous knowledge or experience to take this course however we recommend taking any of our Nail Technology courses first.

Assessment

All the designs that you have created are saved on our unique ’progress cards’ which you send to us at the end of the course for assessment. Our assessors look at your work and your completed question papers and issue a resubmit, pass, credit, or distinction.

Awarding Body

You receive a handsome certificate and can obtain your liability insurance and start work. Should you fail, we will annotate each problem and suggest a way you can improve. Resubmission of work for re-assessment is free, and most students who have failed the first time pass on the second attempt. Our certification is nationally recognised within the nail industry. On completion of the courses and on passing, you would have qualified as a Nail Technician in the system that you have chosen. The certification gained will allow you to obtain your insurance and work on human hands whether you decide to work from home, be mobile or work in a salon.
