Freelance Journalism and Proofreading Combined


The objective of the course in Journalism is to provide students with the knowledge and skills to produce professional articles and market them effectively. It addresses key skills relevant to the industry such as content choice, style, technique and marketing.

Whether you intend to do proofreading on a professional basis or simply wish to improve your knowledge, this course will allow you to earn a valuable certification, based in part on assignments that you will be required to complete.

There are eight chapters in total, each containing instructional material as well as assignments.  You will also be assigned a tutor, who will provide remote assistance with any queries you may have regarding the course and who will correct the assignments you complete.

Our aim is to provide you with the best deal available, therefore registration fee, certification fee and full tutor support is included in the course price for you.

 

Previous Knowledge Required

There are no formal entry requirements and no previous experience is required to take this course although you need to have an access to a PC with Microsoft Word or Microsoft Works installed. You have the freedom to start the course at any time and continue your studies at your own pace for a period of up to 12 months from initial registration with full tutor support.

 

Support

You will be provided with comprehensive materials designed to provide you with everything required to complete your course of study. You will have your own dedicated tutor who will guide you through your course work and answer any questions you may have. Additionally our Student Support Team will provide you with any practical advice by email or phone.

 

Assessment

The NCFE certificates are gained by successfully completing a series of tutor marked assignments.

Awarding Body

At the end of this course successful learners will receive Level 3 and 4 NCFE certificates of achievement. That means that it is independently accredited at a level of learning equivalent to Level 3 and 4 on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) for England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Accreditation by NCFE is a guarantee of quality. It means that this learning programme has been scrutinised and approved by an independent panel of experienced educational professionals and is quality audited biannually by NCFE.

NCFE is recognised as an awarding body by the qualification regulators ('regulators') for England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The regulators are the Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulator (Ofqual) in England, the Department for Children, Education, Lifelong Learning and Skills (DCELLS) in Wales and the Council for Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment (CCEA) in Northern Ireland.
