Course Description

The Foundation Certificate for Care Workers is ideal for anybody considering a position in the care sector.

This distance-learning programme has been written for individuals who are involved or wish to be involved in the care sector and is aimed to give all care workers and potential care workers the essential knowledge needed to offer the very best professional approach to clients.

This course will provide you with the underpinning knowledge of the roles and responsibilities required to work in a care setting and teach you the important theory behind the care industry's basic requirements.

Upon completion of the Care Worker's Foundation Certificate, students will have adopted the knowledge to understand and deal with abuse and neglect, to value peoples equality, diversity and rights and how to provide support for individuals, to name but a few of the topics covered. Where individuals are looking to enhance their career development, this programme will help to identify career paths within the care sector and support future learning requirements.

Previous Knowledge Required

The good news is that no prior learning knowledge or experience is essential to take this course. This course is openly available to anyone wishing to learn more about the care sector and would like to take part in a highly rewarding home study course. You have the freedom to start the course at any time and continue your studies at your own pace for a period of up to 12 months from initial registration with full tutor support.

You will receive the course manual, assignments and study guide plus tutor support by mail and email. Assessment

The NCFE certificate is gained by successfully completing a series of assignments together with an end of course multi-choice questionnaire.

Awarding Body

At the end of this course successful learners will receive a Level 1 NCFE certificate of achievement. That means that it is independently accredited at a level of learning equivalent to Level 1 on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) for England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Accreditation by NCFE is a guarantee of quality. It means that this learning programme has been scrutinised and approved by an independent panel of experienced educational professionals and is quality audited biannually by NCFE.

NCFE is recognised as an awarding body by the qualification regulators ('regulators') for England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The regulators are the Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulator (Ofqual) in England, the Department for Children, Education, Lifelong Learning and Skills (DCELLS) in Wales and the Council for Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment (CCEA) in Northern Ireland.
