Course Description 

CompTIA A+ certification validates the latest skills needed by today’s computer support professionals. It is an international, vendor-neutral certificate that is recognised by major hardware and software vendors, distributors and resellers. CompTIA A+ confirms a technician's ability to perform tasks such as installation, configuration, diagnosing, preventive maintenance and basic networking. The examinations also cover domains such as security, safety and environmental issues and communication and professionalism.

Previous Knowledge Required

You should have an equivalent of at least 500 hours of hands-on experience in the lab or field. Hands-on experience or equivalent knowledge includes installing, building, upgrading, repairing, configuring, troubleshooting, optimising, diagnosing, and performing preventative maintenance of basic personal computer hardware and operating systems. If you do not have these skills we recommend you study our ECDL course first to gain background knowledge.

The CompTIA Certification Course includes:
7 interactive CD-ROMs containing digital video/audio, approved course manual, PC Technician Training Guide Vol. I&II, hands-on interactive exercises, hundreds of practice test questions included in Test Preparation Exam Simulations and Practice Assessment Tests.

The interactive learning materials for A+ Certification includes instructor led sessions combining the convenience and affordability of computer based training with the personal attention and effectiveness of classroom training for a complete study solution.

Assessment

To gain the A+ certification, you will need to pass two exams:
CompTIA A+ Essentials (220-601) and one of the following: 220-602, 220-603 or 220-604

You will be required to register at a CompTIA certified Testing Centre at www.vue.com (These costs are additional and not included in the course price.)
