Course Description
NCC Home Learning's Child Care Diploma course leads to a nationally-recognised Level 3 Award accredited by NCFE. It has been designed to enable you to strengthen and develop your knowledge and understanding of home-based childcare practice.
Course topics covered within the Child Care Diploma course include: The introduction to childcare practice, childcare and child development (0-16), the childcare practitioner and planning to meet children's individual needs.
The Child Care Diploma course will help you to improve your knowledge and skills, meet the requirements for basic training as part of childminder registration or application to be a registered childminder and undertake professional development.
The NCFE Level 2 Award in Safeguarding Children and Young People has been accredited by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority and is part of the National Qualifications Framework. It is an ideal qualification for those who work with children and young people who require specific training in this area.
This qualification has been developed in response to the Every Child Matters: Change for Children agenda. The qualification is supported by the Children’s Workforce Development Council, the Training and Development Agency for Schools and Lifelong Learning UK .
The qualification consists of three mandatory units:
Unit 01 Explore and understand roles in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
Unit 02 Understand legislation and policies which safeguard children and young people
Unit 03 Develop personal skills to effectively contribute to the safeguarding of children and young people.
Previous Knowledge Required
The good news is that no prior learning knowledge or experience is essential to take this course. This course is openly available to anyone wishing to learn more about Child Care and Safeguarding Children and Young People and would like to take part in a highly rewarding home study course. You have the freedom to start the course at any time and continue your studies at your own pace for a period of up to 12 months from initial registration with full tutor support.

Assessment
Completing a series of tutor marked assignments will lead you to the highly acclaimed Level 3 Diploma in Child Care and Safeguarding Children and Young People.

Awarding Body
At the end of this course successful learners will receive a Level 2 and 3 NCFE certificate of achievement. That means that it is independently accredited at a level of learning equivalent to Level 2 and 3 on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) for England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Accreditation by NCFE is a guarantee of quality.
It means that this learning programme has been scrutinised and approved by an independent panel of experienced educational professionals and is quality audited biannually by NCFE. NCFE is recognised as an awarding body by the qualification regulators ('regulators') for England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The regulators are the Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulator (Ofqual) in England, the Department for Children, Education, Lifelong Learning and Skills (DCELLS) in Wales and the Council for Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment (CCEA) in Northern Ireland.
