SH028  Child Day Care Diploma

Course Description 

This course will address the fundamental skills required to establish your own child care business as well as practical tips and ideas for working with children.

At the end of the course you will develop:
• An awareness of psychological approaches to the understanding of child development
• A recognition of the application of developmental psychology to certain aspects of child care and education
• An awareness of different methodological approaches to psychological investigation
• A range of skills in using psychological methods

Previous Knowledge Required

The good news is that no prior learning knowledge or experience is essential to take this course. This course is openly available to anyone wishing to learn more about child psychology and would like to take part in a highly rewarding home study course.

You have the freedom to start the course at any time and continue your studies at your own pace for a period of up to 12 months from initial registration.

Who signs up for the course?

* People who already have some experience in child care and are currently searching for employment
* People who wish to pursue a child minding career.

The study time for this course is 150 hours, but the actual duration will depend on the amount of time you can personally commit to your studies.

If you plan to be employed in child care institutions, we would recommend our Diploma in Child Care, Learning and Development Level 3 National Open College Network (NOCN) Award in order to satisfy current OFSTED requirements for people planning to work in a child care environment in a wide variety of roles.
