NHS Dementia Awareness Campaign

09/03/2010

A recent poll found that 32% of people would find it uncomfortable to spend time with a person with dementia.  Findings from the poll suggest that this is because of a lack of education about the condition or how to help someone who has it.

The NHS recently launched a Dementia Awareness Campaign in the hope to transform these views.  The campaign aims to raise understanding of an illness that affects so many and provides useful tips to carers of those with dementia so they can provide the best possible help and support.

This recent drive to improve the individuals quality of life through broadening knowledge and understanding and giving them the time and respect they deserve, ties in with related dementia care courses NCC Home Learning offers.

If you know or care for someone who suffers with dementia, you are employed in a care environment or are just simply interested in what is a very current and significant topic see what NCC has to offer.
