Course Description
All companies and other organisations in the UK are being encouraged to adopt more environmentally friendly management policies. There is also an initiative by the Department of the Environment and Rural Affairs to train those working in land-based industries in environmental awareness management.
This fully recognised OCNW Level 2 qualification - Certificate in Environmental Awareness is suitable for both individual learners and those in a work situation. The course provides learners with the knowledge, skills and understanding of the main environmental issues facing organisations and instructs learners in how to carry out an environmental audit in their own organisation, how to manage scarce environmental resources and how to reduce the risk of pollution. This programme is suitable for individual learners and not just those in a work situation.
You can’t have failed to notice how environmental issues have progressively been taking a more prominent role in our daily lives; we hear it on the TV and we read it in the papers almost everyday. In both the workplace and at home we are being encouraged to think more about our actions and the effects they might have on the environment.
Phrases like “climate change” and “global warming” are cropping up more and more frequently and can only be addressed if we accept our responsibility and learn what practical action we can take as individuals or organisations.
The OCNW Level 2 Certificate in Developing Environmental Awareness looks at these issues and directs learners to focus on a number of key agendas.

Previous Knowledge Required
It is not necessary to have any prior learning knowledge about environmental awareness before studying for this course.

Assessment
There is no final examination to complete at the end of this course. When the programme has been completed and you have achieved the required standard in the Activities/Self-assessment section of the course, you will receive a certificate of achievement from the Awarding Body.
