Course Description
This programme is designed to introduce the student to a variety of areas related to the use and misuse of a wide range of drugs, including both legal and illegal substances. It helps to develop increased understanding of these issues and the possible responses and interventions.
The programme aims to provide a nationally accredited certificated programme in a wide range of substance misuse issues and the variety of responses and interventions available, provide a flexible learning opportunity that is accessible to a wide range of learners, provide the student with knowledge and understanding that can be used by those who either personally, voluntary or professionally have a special interest in this field. The OCN (North West) Level 3 Counselling course is a practical and stimulating course, ideal for individuals with no prior counselling knowledge. The course will help you develop the skills you need in order to work on a one to one basis with people in need of help, guidance and support. The Counselling course offers deep exploration and a step by step guide to work through the whole process of counselling from the initial meeting through to the end of the counselling relationship.
Our bundle offer of both the Responding to Substance Misuse and Counselling courses will provide an all-round knowledge of these subjects that compliment each other very well.
Previous Knowledge Required
The good news is that no prior learning knowledge or experience is essential to take this course. This course is openly available to anyone wishing to learn more about substance misuse and counselling and would like to take part in a highly rewarding home study course. You have the freedom to start the course at any time and continue your studies at your own pace for a period of up to 12 months from initial registration with full tutor support.

You can be assured that unlimited support is available for your home study course, so there is no need to struggle or feel isolated during your studies.
Assessment
Responding to Substance Misuse
Completing a series of tutor marked assignments together with a multiple-choice questionnaire will lead you to the highly acclaimed OCNW Level 3 Certificate in Responding to Substance Misuse.
Counselling
The Counselling OCN (North West) Level 3 course is assessed by completion of a series of tutor marked assignments. When your assignments have been successfully completed, you will be awarded with the highly acclaimed Counselling OCN (North West) Level 3 course.

Awarding Body
The Counselling course is fully accredited by the National Awarding Body OCN (North West), who is recognised by the DIUS and by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority in Britain. Higher Education Credits are available upon completion of this course.
