NCC Home Learning and the BBC Children in Need Appeal
NCCHL has received many requests for learning resources to support the underpinning knowledge required against qualifications such as National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ’s) and vocationally related Qualifications (VRQ’s), so we have come up with a range to start you off. The underpinning knowledge packs designed by NCC can be purchased as units or a complete pack* and will support learners who wish to undertake vocational qualifications in a wide variety of subject areas. The bookstore learning resources will guide you towards a chosen qualification but will need to be complemented by an appropriate Centre and you will require support from a qualified subject Assessor or Tutor depending on the materials selected.
The workbooks will add many benefits to your studies by providing a series of questions, activities and/or scenarios/assignments for you the learner to complete. Additionally, and where appropriate, qualification standards, cross referencing and supporting documents are included within the resource packs. By completing the learning resource, you will be confirming your knowledge and testing your understanding in a particular field or subject area. The learning resources are considered to be self study guides and therefore no certificate will be issued or awarded by NCC. Should you require Assessor/ Tutor support please contact the student support team to discuss further.
When deciding whether to purchase, please be aware of the following:
- The materials are up to date and are used widely by our Further Education partners within the National Consortium of Colleges
- The materials are written to appropriate current qualification standards
- The materials can be unitised*
- The materials come with underpinning knowledge, activities and questions
- The materials are supplied in a ring binder which will act as your portfolio
- Awarding Body endorsement is included as appropriate
Materials are designed and written around a tried and tested model for self-study.
